Concentrations

The Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education has been designed to ensure graduates are equipped to teach in different fields with special emphasis on the envisaged in the concentrations the University of Deusto teaches.

Hearing and Speech Science Specialism for Primary Education graduates (other universities)

Inclusive schools, which address the diversity of specific educational support needs that arise in the teaching-learning process, require competent professionals to identify and prevent difficulties in language, speech and communication development.

These experts in education work closely with others who are equipped to meet the needs presented by diversity. They must be competent in specific psychopedagogical diagnosis of students with hearing and speech difficulties Professionals who can design initial assessment processes for each student's profile to later develop, plan and monitor individual education plans according to these language, hearing and speech needs without overlooking their collaboration in setting guidelines to carry out curricular adjustments and adapt material for the school, classroom and/or individual to enable integral development of the student's competences and abilities.

 

Applicant profile

Applicants should preferably hold Bachelor's degrees in Primary Education with Specialism in Special Education or Therapeutic Pedagogy from other universities.

 

Programme structure

In one academic year, students obtain the official degree certificate in Primary Education Specialism in Hearing and Speech Science. They are required to complete the following:

  • The subjects and internships for the specialist field.
  • The training required to obtain the degree certificate (according to the credits recognised).

Students complete four specialist subjects:

 

- General Models and Proposals for Assessment in Hearing and Speech Science
- General Strategies for Intervention in Hearing and Speech Science
- Specific Strategies for Intervention with
People with Hearing Disabilities
- Intervention Methods in Hearing and Speech Science

 

Timetable: Monday to Thursday 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm*

Internships in the specialist field Timetable: Monday to Friday 9:00 am -12:00 pm*

Admissions

  • Application deadline: Primary Education graduates with specialisms in Special Education or Therapeutic Pedagogy may submit their applications at the General Secretariat from February 28th to May 10th.
  • These applicants are also required to request recognition of credits at the General Secretariat.
  • A minimum number of students enrolled is required to grant admission to the course.
