Overview

Objective

This course aims to ensure students receive the certification needed to sign on the Basque Government Mediator Registry. Students learn the corresponding legal framework and examine family dynamics and conflict situations in family contexts, communication and problem-solving strategies, etc.

This certification is required for positions in family mediation centres or services, community and city council pyschosocial support teams, child protection services, legal services, meeting points, etc.

What is family mediation?

The family mediator is an impartial third party without decision-making power. He/she helps and guides the conflicting parties to encourage dialogue and find acceptable solutions based on agreement of all those involved.
